Department of Management “Valter Cantino,” University of Torino, Corso Unione Sovietica 220, Torino (Italy)

The symposium, hosted by Professor Gabriella Racca of the University of Turin and co-chaired by Professor Racca and Professor Christopher Yukins of George Washington University Law School (Washington, DC), focused on parallel digital transformations in public procurement in Europe and the Americas. The symposium tracked key developments in both hemispheres: in Europe work has begun on revamping the EU procurement directives, while in the Americas critical changes are underway in both North and South America. The reforms have common themes, drawn together by an ongoing book project headed by the conference chairs: a focus on digital transformation and emerging technologies, and on improved outcomes in public contracting.
